| The Mouse Your mouse has two buttons and a scroll wheel in the middle. The left mouse button is used to make selections. For menu items and internet links you only need to click once. To select a range of items or text, click and drag. To start programs and change folders, double-click. A common feature that is often overlooked is the right mouse button. Clicking the right mouse button will display a smart-menu. This menu changes according to what you are right-clicking on. From this menu you can cut, paste, delete, send files to CDs and much more. A very useful tool! A lot of control panel features can be obtained directly by right-clicking on an object and selecting properties. For example: Right-clicking on the Start button and selecting properties will bring up the Taskbar and Start Menu controls. Also: Right-clicking on the desktop itself will bring up Display Properties. Here you can change screen savers and backgrounds. The scroll wheel can scroll up and down through documents and web pages. It can also zoom in and out of pictures being viewed by the Windows picture viewer. All functions of the mouse, including speed can be adjusted from the Control Panel. Your keyboard is loaded with shortcuts to help you cruise through the internet and your work.
