Burning a CD Using Windows XP

Windows XP has support for basic CD burning built right in.

Here a quick and easy way to burn a data disc:

Locate the files you want to burn, right-click on them and
Send To…  CD-RW Drive.

Do this to all the files you want to include on the disc.

NOTE: This only collects them in a temporary area, this does not actually burn the disc

When you are done collecting the files you want to burn you can either click the little balloon
that says You have files waiting...

or

Open My Computer and double-click on the CD-RW Drive.

This will show the files you have waiting to be burned.

Click on the
Write these files to CD task to burn the disc.

You can also copy and burn non-copy protected
Audio discs from Windows Media Player.

If you have
Nero Burning ROM installed, you can do far more advanced CD Projects.
Nero documentation is available on the
main documents page.
